About Us
Asylon is building the future of automated physical security
Founded by aerospace engineers out of MIT, Asylon exists to solve one of the world’s most fundamental problems: protecting people, property, and assets at scale. We design and deploy integrated robotics, software, and AI systems that operate continuously in the real world—where reliability is critical and failure is not an option. Our technology is already protecting lives and infrastructure every day.
The Asylon team brings deep roots in aerospace, defense, and mission-critical engineering, with experience spanning military aviation, naval defense platforms, and advanced commercial systems. That heritage shapes how we work: high standards, disciplined execution, and uncompromising integrity. We build and operate systems that deliver real outcomes for real customers.
We are assembling a team of engineers, operators, and leaders who want their work to matter—people who thrive in demanding environments, take pride in craftsmanship, and take ownership of results. At Asylon, you will help build category-defining technology, push the boundaries of what autonomous systems can do, and set the standard for an entirely new industry.
Our Product - Automated Physical Security
Our full-stack solution enables autonomous aerial and ground robots to operate persistently alongside human security teams—providing continuous situational awareness, rapid response capabilities, and actionable intelligence at scale. We believe the future of security is not humans or machines. It is humans + machines + AI working together—amplifying coverage, improving decision-making, and reducing risk.
Our platform transforms robots from experimental tools into dependable security assets. Deployed at customer sites today, Asylon systems conduct routine patrols, respond to incidents, and integrate directly into security operations—extending the reach of teams and fundamentally changing how physical security is delivered.
We are building the software infrastructure layer for the automated security economy. The work is exciting, and the mission is real.
Position
The Accounting Associate supports the financial operations of a robotics company that provides autonomous perimeter security patrol services and generates recurring monthly service revenue. The Associate Accountant will engage directly with the CFO and VP of Finance on a day-to-day basis and will be deeply engaged with the Company’s auditors. The role spans accounts payable, fixed asset management, sales tax compliance, general accounting and the month end close, with frequent collaboration across engineering, field operations, and service delivery teams. This position is ideal for someone with two years of experience who thrives in a fastmoving environment where hardware, software, and field deployed systems come together.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle, including new vendor onboarding, invoice processing, coding, approvals, and support vendor payments for engineering, manufacturing, deployment, and service operations purchases.
- Maintain the fixed asset register for autonomous patrol units, sensors, charging stations, networking equipment, and field deployed security assets, ensuring accurate tracking of additions, disposals, and capital projects.
- Record monthly depreciation and reconcile fixed asset schedules to the general ledger.
- Oversee the sales tax function, including reviewing taxable transactions, overseeing the multistate filings by an outsourced accounting firm, monitoring exemption certificates, and ensuring compliance for both hardware sales and recurring service revenue.
- Support revenue related accounting activities tied to monthly recurring service contracts, including reviewing billing data, validating service periods, and assisting with revenue related reconciliations.
- Prepare bank reconciliations and assist with balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Contribute to month end close by preparing journal entries, accruals, workpapers, and supporting schedules.
- Partner with engineering, operations, and field deployment teams to validate asset status, project spending, and vendor activity.
- Maintain organized financial documentation for internal reporting, audits, and regulatory compliance.
- Respond to vendor inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and support process improvements that help the finance function scale with company growth.
- Support year end audit requests.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Approximately two years of accounting experience, ideally in technology, robotics, manufacturing, or public accounting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and advanced formulas.
- Familiarity with fixed asset accounting, depreciation methods, and basic GAAP principles.
- Exposure to sales tax compliance and recurring revenue environments, or willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, maintaining confidentiality, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, innovation driven setting.
- Desire to learn and grow as our needs evolve and strong inter-personal skills to foster a team first environment.
