About Us

www.asylonrobotics.com

Asylon automates security operations using robots, software, and AI in order to help its customers protect their people, property, and assets. Asylon was founded in 2015 by three MIT aerospace engineers who have worked on a variety of projects in the aerospace industry from the V-22 Osprey to commercial jet engines to defense systems on Navy destroyers. With our team’s strong background in aerospace, Asylon develops products consistent with the quality standards demanded by commercial and military customers. Today, Asylon is a dynamic team that is passionate about robots and committed to building and operating safe, high quality products that solve the greatest challenges facing the robotics and security industries.

We are building a diverse team that creates novel solutions and provides previously unrealized services via robotics. The Asylon team is perfect for those who wish to apply their expertise to revolutionize the robotics industry while expanding their own skillsets.

Product - Robotic Perimeter Security

Asylon develops field deployable infrastructure for automated robots to augment the security teams of our clients. We believe that the true advantages of robotics and automation come when we can have robots and humans working hand-in-hand to increase security and help save lives. We see robots as a means to deliver actionable, timely, and persistent intelligence. DroneCore, our full stack aerial and ground robotics solution, is revolutionizing the way the security industry operates by providing capabilities to security teams that they have never had before.

Position

Asylon is looking for an electrical engineer to design, test, and maintain the electrical systems that power our robotic products and their stations. You’ll work on circuit boards, wire harnesses, battery management systems, actuator controls, and environmental controllers across the DroneCore product line. This role is hands-on and spans the full lifecycle from prototyping through manufacturing — you should be comfortable designing circuits, bringing up boards, perform testing, and establishing the QA processes that ensure our hardware meets the quality standards demanded by commercial and military customers.

Due to the nature of some projects worked on in this position, applicants must be a U.S. Citizens

  • Improve upon existing systems to ensure they meet customer requirements. Examples include battery management circuits, actuator control systems, and environmental controllers
  • Establish manufacturing and QA methods for PCBs, wire harnesses, and other electrical components to ensure they meet industry standards
  • Define the architecture and select components for complex embedded electro-mechanical systems
  • Incorporate DFM and other manufacturing considerations on the way to high-quality mass production
  • Create and carry out a validation plan for the system electronics
  • Solve related reliability, yield, and performance issues through development and into production
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and maintain our technological edge

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering, computer engineering, or related field
  • 3+ years professional experience
  • Electrical Design and ECAD, including analog and digital circuit design, schematic capture, board layout/design, and simulation
  • Proficiency reading and interpreting schematics and electrical diagrams
  • PCB fabrication, testing and debugging
  • Experience prototyping and fabricating new products
  • Passion for robotics!

  • Proficiency with Altium
  • Troubleshooting EMI/RF problems
  • Power supply design, including AC to DC and DC to DC
  • High speed digital design
  • Control systems
  • Programming languages to support electronics design, simulation, and testing (Python, MATLAB, C++, etc.)

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and equity packages
  • 401(k) and 401(k) matching
  • Flexible vacation/sick time
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
