General Summary:

Qualcomm is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to own the end‑to‑end Memory Sourcing Strategy and Market Intelligence Program across DRAM and NAND. This role combines deep market analysis with strategic procurement leadership, enabling Qualcomm to secure competitive, reliable, and long‑term memory supply across all major business segments (Mobile, Automotive, Compute, IoT, XR, Infrastructure).

This person will serve as Qualcomm’s internal expert on the memory ecosystem— driving intelligence, sourcing strategy, supplier engagement, contract negotiations, and continuous improvements in memory procurement processes.

This role requires full-time onsite work in San Diego, CA.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations, or related field.
• 6+ years of industry-specific experience in Procurement, Operations, or related work experience.

Key Responsibilities

Market Insights & Analytics

  • Lead comprehensive DRAM & NAND market intelligence: supply/demand modeling, pricing trends, cost structures, capacity expansions, and technology roadmaps.

  • Track competitive landscape across global suppliers.

  • Develop forecast scenarios for executive decision‑making on pricing, supply risk, and technology transitions.

  • Produce regular dashboards, insights reports, and executive presentations.

Memory Sourcing Strategy & Supplier Management

  • Define and drive Qualcomm’s global memory sourcing strategy, aligned with product roadmaps and business priorities.

  • Develop multi‑year strategies covering technology roadmaps, supplier positioning, commercial structures, and long‑term supply risk mitigation.

  • Partner with Engineering and Product Management to align sourcing choices with platform requirements across multiple business lines.

  • Lead supplier segmentation and strategic supplier relationship management for memory suppliers.

Contract Negotiation & Commercial Leadership

  • Lead commercial negotiations with DRAM and NAND suppliers to secure competitive pricing, supply continuity, and strategic value.

  • Structure long‑term agreements including pricing frameworks, volume commitments, supply assurance, liability terms, and risk‑sharing mechanisms.

  • Collaborate with Legal and Finance to ensure compliant, optimized, and risk‑balanced contract execution.

  • Support quarterly business reviews with suppliers and executive‑level negotiations.

Process Improvement & Procurement Operations

  • Identify and implement procurement process improvements for memory sourcing, including data flows, negotiation frameworks, governance, and supplier management processes.

  • Improve cross‑functional workflows between Procurement, Engineering, Planning, and Product teams.

  • Develop procurement tools, templates, and analytics frameworks to enhance decision‑making efficiency and accuracy.

  • Increase automation and data‑driven insights within the memory sourcing lifecycle.

Cross‑functional Leadership

  • Serve as Qualcomm’s in‑house subject‑matter expert for all DRAM & NAND trends, pricing, and strategic procurement matters.

  • Partner closely with Engineering, Product Planning, Finance, Legal, Operations, and Executive leadership.

  • Provide proactive insights to support NPI readiness, cost planning, and margin improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Economics, Business, or related field.

  • 8–12+ years of experience in semiconductor memory sourcing, memory market intelligence, or supplier management.

  • Deep understanding of DRAM & NAND technologies, cost structures, and supplier ecosystem.

  • Demonstrated experience with commercial negotiations and long‑term supplier agreements.

  • Strong analytical skills (forecasting, modeling, competitive analysis).

  • Excellent executive‑level communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience at a top memory supplier, OEM, or leading semiconductor company.

  • Expertise in multi‑year sourcing strategy development.

  • Strong financial acumen and comfort with complex commercial models.

  • Proficiency in analytics and visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau).

  • Experience improving procurement systems, processes, or tools.

Success Metrics

  • Development and execution of a multi‑year memory sourcing strategy.

  • Improved cost competitiveness through negotiation outcomes and commercial frameworks.

  • Improved forecast accuracy for DRAM & NAND pricing and supply conditions.

  • Reduced supply chain risk and increased supplier diversification strategies.

  • Measurable improvement in procurement processes and tools.

  • Increased visibility and adoption of memory intelligence across business groups.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$124,600.00 - $186,800.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
