Core Responsibilities

  • Organize, schedule, prepare, and deliver Mobile Command Center to test events.
  • Maintain fleet of multiple advanced surrogate aircraft.
  • Coordinate with vehicle hardware providers and test range resources to ensure efficient test execution.
  • Perform remote Pilot-in-Command functions as a FAR Part-107 certified operator.
  • Support delivery and deployment of autonomy capabilities to operational customers.
  • Collaborate with operators and Human Machine Interface developer teams to incorporate user feedback into autonomy visualization tools.
  • Integrate autonomy software into hardware in collaboration with autonomy engineers that supports full integration with aircraft autopilots, datalinks, sensors, PNT/GPS/INS, ground control stations, etc.
  • Support live flight test of autonomy software on group 1-5 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
  • Collaborate with 3rd party UAS vehicle vendors on the integration of EpiSci autonomy software onto OEM UAS hardware.
  • Collaborate with domain experts and prior DoD warfighters (ex. DoD fighter pilots) to build software autonomy solutions for military missions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/related engineering field.
  • 3-5 years of hands-on experience supporting hardware integration during operations
  • FAR Part-107 License
  • Technical Requirements:
  • Experience planning, designing and executing small UAS test events.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Passion for supporting teams solving complex problems with little supervision
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, frequently changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent communication, and documentation skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Travel Requirements
  • Must be willing to travel as projects requires. Estimated average travel is once every other month for between 2 days up to 1 week. (~20%)
  • Location Requirements
  • This position requires that you be located within a drivable distance to Fort Walton Beach and Eglin Air Force Base in the Gulf Coast of Florida. The position is still hybrid: expect 2-3 days a week to be in the office, 2-3 days a week at home.
  • Security Requirements
  • (MANDATORY) Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • (MANDATORY) Must be eligible for a U.S. SECRET security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in computer science/engineering field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting hardware integration during operations
  • Technical Requirements:
  • Familiarity with software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) development and testing.
  • Experience working projects related to national security for one or more government agencies.
  • Interdisciplinary background, with evidence of continual learning.
  • Security Requirements
  • (MANDATORY) Must be eligible for a U.S. SECRET security clearance.
  • Additional Requirements:
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate
