Core Responsibilities

  • What You’ll Do:
  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, business development, and operations.
  • Own product lifecycle from concept to launch to delivery.
  • Prioritize features based on customer feedback, business impact, and technical feasibility.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities.
  • Work closely with engineering teams to translate requirements into actionable software development tasks.
  • Communicate product updates and strategy to stakeholders.
  • Lead go-to-market strategies and product positioning.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Product Strategy & Vision: Develop and communicate product vision and strategy.
  • Roadmap Planning: Define and maintain a product roadmap that aligns with company goals.
  • Customer Research: Engage with customers to gather insights and validate product decisions.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive product success.
  • Agile Development: Work within Agile methodologies to deliver high-impact products iteratively.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct industry research and analyze competitive landscapes.
  • Feature Prioritization: Balance customer needs with business objectives and technical constraints.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage analytics and user feedback to improve product performance.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering professional growth.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Awareness: Ensure products comply with security, privacy, and industry standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science/related engineering field.
  • 5+ years of product experience in a software-driven environment.
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Experience working on government or national security-related projects.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and product development lifecycle.
  • Experience working with engineering teams to deliver high-quality software products.
  • Proficiency in using product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Aha!).
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and prioritize effectively.
  • Nice to Haves
  • Proven experience in defining and launching successful products.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business-friendly language.
  • Experience in SaaS, enterprise software, or technology-driven industries.
  • Travel
  • Must be willing to travel as projects requires - estimated average travel is (10-20%).
  • Security Clearance
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must be eligible for a U.S. SECRET security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in computer science/related engineering field or an MBA.
  • 7+ years of experience developing software for in C++ (C++ 2017) and Python.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of key technologies: C++, Python, Web Development, Service-Oriented Architectures, DevOps, Containers, Linux.
What will it be like to work at EpiSci? As an engineer at EpiSci, you’ll work closely with a team of diversely skilled engineers to innovate software solutions to complex problems related to networked collaborative autonomous systems. You’ll attend the occasional project briefing and regular stand-ups, but mostly you’ll be focused on writing the code necessary to level up US defensive capabilities; you’ll be asked to travel to on-site demonstrations of these integrated solutions. You’ll develop cool things that you’ll get to test with cool people in cool places.
