We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. About Seoul
Applied Intuition entered the Korean market in 2020. The team has rapidly grown over the past few years and established strategic relationships with major Korean automotive OEM customers. About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our fast-paced, customer-oriented team at our Korea office. This on-site role focuses on developing the autonomy stack for unmanned aerial systems. You will design, build, and optimize software solutions for cutting-edge autonomous systems, lead and mentor junior engineers, collaborate daily with our USA team, and engage with customers in the autonomy and defense domains through meetings and presentations to deliver high-quality, reliable, and scalable products in a dynamic environment.
At Applied Intuition, you will:
- Design, develop, and maintain software for the autonomy stack of unmanned aerial systems, ensuring robust and efficient performance.
- Collaborate daily with the US team and cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions that meet customer needs and project deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Integrate software with hardware components through hardware-in-the-loop autonomy testbed, ensuring seamless operation in real-world robotic systems.
- Apply AI/ML techniques to enhance autonomous decision-making, perception, and navigation capabilities.
- Contribute to system-level design and architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Mentor and lead junior engineers, fostering their technical growth and ensuring team success.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous integration to maintain high-quality deliverables.
- Stay updated on advancements in AI/ML, computer vision, and reinforcement learning to drive innovation.
- Work with hardware/sensor system models to ensure accurate software integration and performance.
We're looking for someone who has:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment.
- Proven track record of delivering software solutions within agile, high-frequency release cycles.
- Expertise in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and their application in autonomous systems.
- Solid system engineering understanding, with experience in software development for hardware-integrated systems (e.g., robotics, embedded systems).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or similar.
- Familiarity with hardware/sensor system modeling for autonomous systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective daily collaboration with the USA team and documentation.
Nice to have:
- Experience on one or more of the following topics: Automatic Target Recognition (ATR), Reinforcement learning (RL), Drone Swarming, Path Planning, and Aerospace control systems, and Flight Demonstration of Autonomy Stack for Group 1 and 2 drones.
- Experience in the aerial domain and unmanned autonomy stack development.
- Contributions to open-source projects or publications in AI/ML, CV, Autonomy, Aerospace, or robotics.
