Description

Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Planner to lead production planning, scheduling, and material coordination for complex aerospace manufacturing programs. This role ensures optimal resource utilization, material availability, and schedule adherence across multiple product lines. The Senior Planner acts as a key liaison between engineering, supply chain, operations, and quality teams – driving proactive planning, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring on-time delivery to customers.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of aerospace production schedules from program initiation through final delivery.
  • Develop and maintain detailed master production schedules and capacity plans in alignment with company goals and customer requirements.
  • Drive coordination between cross-functional teams (engineering, supply chain, operations, quality) to ensure timely release of work orders and material readiness.
  • Monitor inventory levels, open work orders, and WIP status to ensure efficient production flow and on-time delivery.
  • Identify potential schedule or material risks; develop and execute mitigation plans to maintain production continuity.
  • Analyze ERP/MRP data to track shortages, expedite materials, and manage production priorities.
  • Lead and mentor junior planners, providing training, guidance, and support on planning tools and best practices
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to planning accuracy, process efficiency, and ERP utilization.
  • Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to resolve constraints, expedite critical items.

Required Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Operations Management, Supply Chain, or related field is preferred but not required.
  • 5+ years of experience in production planning, material control, or related roles within aerospace or complex manufacturing environments.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent)
  • Advanced MS Excel and data analysis skills
  • Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership abilities
  • Expertise in production planning, capacity management, and demand forecasting
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and mitigate schedule and material risks
  • Attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced production environment
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP and/or Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions


  • Primarily an office-based role within a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Requires regular movement between office and production areas for coordination and material verification.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional light lifting (up to 25 lbs.) and handling of production documents or parts.
  • May require extended hours or weekend support to meet schedule or delivery commitments.
  • Work performed in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with moderate exposure to manufacturing noise and activity.

Compensation: $110k - $132k, plus generous annual equity package and potential bonuses.
