Position Summary


FlightWave, a wholly owned subsidiary of Red Cat Holdings, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Flight Operations Supervisor to support operational and quality control testing of our unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). We are a growing drone technology company focused on serving defense, public safety, and other government security organizations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Flight Operations Oversight

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all company flight test and demonstration operations.
  • Ensure all flight missions are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and FAA regulations.
  • Oversee flight schedules, resource allocation, and mission readiness for pilots and ground crew.

Safety and Regulatory Compliance

  • Maintain compliance with FAA Part 107, or experimental flight operations as applicable.
  • Ensure adherence to company Safety Management protocols.
  • Conduct and document safety briefings, pre-flight risk assessments, and incident investigations.
  • Maintain flight logs, airworthiness documentation, and operational records per regulatory requirements.

Personnel Supervision and Training

  • Supervise flight crews, ground control operators, and maintenance support personnel.
  • Evaluate and certify flight operator proficiency and training compliance.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for new operators and support staff.
  • Operational Planning and Coordination
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to plan and execute test flights for prototype and production vehicles.
  • Support integration and validation testing of new hardware, payloads, and software systems.
  • Coordinate flight activities with customers, regulatory agencies, and internal departments.

Process and Continuous Improvement

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for flight and ground operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance flight reliability and safety.
  • Track and report flight metrics, performance trends, and operational KPIs to management.
  • Asset and Equipment Management
  • Oversee the maintenance, calibration, and readiness of flight operations equipment, control stations, and aircraft.
  • Manage flight operation budgets, consumables, and spare part inventories.

Mission Support and Field Operations

  • Lead or support off-site flight operations, demonstrations, and customer training missions as required.
  • Ensure logistics, travel, and equipment requirements are met for remote operations.

Required Qualifications


  • Hold a Remote Pilot Certificate (Part 107 license) from the FAA
  • Demonstrated success as a Flight Test Technician.
  • Proven ability to safely operate VTOL and multirotor UAVs in test environments.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and familiarity with production vehicle integration.
  • Clear communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage scheduling and reporting responsibilities.
  • Commitment to mentoring and supporting peers in the technician team.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions


  • Must be able to walk, stand, and navigate large indoor and outdoor facilities for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required in designated areas or when performing specific tasks, in accordance with safety protocols and company policy.
  • May be required to climb ladders, stoop, kneel, or crouch during inspections, maintenance walk-throughs, or emergency response situations.
  • Regular exposure to facility operations including noise, dust, temperature fluctuations, and industrial equipment.
  • Occasional off-hours or weekend work required for emergency facility responses or projects as needed
  • Requires frequent use of a computer and other standard office equipment for documentation, communication, and coordination tasks.

Background Check

This position will require successfully completing a post-offer background check. Qualified candidates with a criminal history will be considered and are not automatically disqualified, consistent with federal and state law.

Compensation: $41.35 - $45.67, plus generous annual equity package and potential bonuses.
