Overview:
Radiant is seeking a highly skilled senior engineering test technician to support development, operation, and production ramp of our proprietary production systems. In this role, you will work closely with engineering to execute complex, multi-day production runs on one-of-a-kind systems and transition those processes into reliable production operations.
This position requires deep hands-on experience with hydrogen, vacuum, thermal, and automated process equipment. You will independently operate and troubleshoot safety-critical systems, interpret real-time process data, and make informed adjustments to ensure safe, repeatable, and high quality outcomes. You will be expected to understand system behavior at a fundamental level and actively drive the process.

Responsibilities and Duties:
Independently operate and monitor complex fluid systems during extended runs, including off-shift and overnight coverage as required.
Execute detailed test and production profiles involving hydrogen gas, vacuum systems, furnaces, and automated controls
Monitor, interpret, and respond to real-time process data, making adjustments as needed to maintain safety, quality, and process objectives
Troubleshoot complex system issues spanning fluid systems, vacuum hardware, electrical components, sensors, control loops, and automation
Support development, validation, and refinement of advanced processes in close collaboration with engineering.

Perform precision measurements using hand tools and metrology equipment to verify conformance to specifications
Operate and set up automated and semi-automated production equipment including laser welding systems
Document process results, deviations, and corrective actions to support traceability and continuous improvement
Support equipment maintenance, calibration, and upgrades as needed
Maintain strict adherence to safety, quality, and operational procedures when working with hydrogen and high temperature systems
Support additional technician duties or cross functional activities as needed to meet company priorities

Required Skills/Qualifications:
5+ years of hands-on experience in an engineering technician, test technician, or advanced manufacturing role
Demonstrated experience working with complex fluid systems involving vacuum and hazardous gasses
Experience operating thermal processing equipment such as furnaces or high temperature reactors
Strong ability to troubleshoot across multiple disciplines including mechanical, electrical, controls, and fluid systems
Hands on experience with precision assembly, cleanliness controlled processes, and careful material handling
Proficiency with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc)
Comfortable operating and setting up automated and semi-automated production equipment.
Ability to follow detailed work instructions while exercising independent judgement when conditions deviate
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
Willingness to work non-standard hours including overnight shifts during extended runs

Desired Skills/Qualifications:
Experience with laser welding, brazing, or similar advanced manufacturing processes
Familiarity with hydrogen safety standards and best practices
Experience supporting production operations and executing work orders in a manufacturing environment
Background in materials processing, metallurgy, or thermal treatment processes
Experience working with one-of-a-kind or first-of-its-kind equipment
Familiarity with data acquisition systems, PLC-controlled equipment, or automated process tooling
