Simplesense builds, deploys, and sustains the Installation Resilience Platform that enables mission operators to rapidly adapt and respond. The Platform protects critical infrastructure from cyber attack while unlocking previously siloed information to monitor, diagnose, and improve response times to incidents. Simplesense is a non-traditional defense contractor and prime on the Air Force's Installation Resilience Operations Command and Control (IROC) program, which is now expanding to five additional Air Force, Space Force, and Army installations from the one prototype installation, Tyndall Air Force Base.

Mission critical facilities depend on utilities, life safety, security, and building automation control systems to maintain readiness 24/7/365. Simplesense protects critical infrastructure from cyber attack and enables facility managers and operators access to the latest technology as well as previously inaccessible information to monitor, diagnose, and respond faster to events in real-time.

The Technical Program Manager (TPM): Data Insights is responsible for establishing project requirements and tracking project budget and schedule to completion across an assigned program or portfolio aligned to a core capability. They work closely with the Product Owners to ensure technical requirements are understood, planned,completed within the desired parameters. They coordinate and deconflict across sprint teams to ensure individual project completion and overall program on-budget and on-time delivery. The TPM represents the customer’s requirements to the engineering team and represents the company to the customer. The TPM reports to the Director of Programs and is supported by the Staff Technical Program Manager.

Core Responsibilities

  • Clearly distill customer and internal product requirements into actionable tasks
  • Work directly with internal and external stakeholders to define projects
  • Employ a pragmatic approach to balancing deadlines, budgets, features, and capacity
  • Track underway tasks and projects to completion, including subcontractor tasks
  • Identify prioritization and staffing constraints; work with leadership to resolve
  • Identify and manage risk for projects and initiatives across an assigned portfolio
  • Communicate and report formal program status for schedules, budgets and risks
  • Collaborate with Staff Technical Program Manager on continuous improvement
  • Orchestrate program-level ceremonies for dependency resolution and de-confliction
  • Represent Simplesense when required to customers, partners, and subcontractors

Requirements

  • 7+ years with demonstrated success in managing project delivery to customers
  • Extensive experience managing multiple concurrent interrelated projects, preferably within a large-scale data, SaaS, or enterprise software environment.
  • Demonstrated translation between traditional waterfall and agile models
  • Demonstrated use of project management tools for tracking (Jira, Asana, etc)
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum
  • Familiarity with small business and startup culture, Department of Defense project experience is a bonus
  • T-shaped person (experience in many things, depth in a handful) with depth in one or more of the following is important:
    • Project Management of
      • Networking Development
      • Software Development
      • Cybersecurity, outage monitoring, and incident response
      • Network Operations, NOC/SOC day-to-day support and operations
    • Continuous improvement to optimize processes and procedures
    • DevSecOps
    • Set up, configuration and operation of project management tooling
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a DoD NIPR network account and Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Must have, or be able to obtain, a Secret Clearance.

Pay Range: $130,000 - $170,000 per year, depending on your experience, skill, and location.

Our compensation ranges are developed using market benchmarking tools and regularly reviewed to ensure alignment with competitive pay practices and internal equity. In addition to base pay, all employees are eligible for comprehensive benefits.
